Values define us. They are the rules of play at work and in our personal lives, whether defined or not.
When there is alignment between our personal values and those in our company culture, our creative and discretionary energy can be unleashed. That’s where the potential for real fulfillment is.
Time and again I see a company’s values die in the drawer, or even worse, on the wall! The values simply never have life breathed into them. They are never ritualized.
It’s my turn this week for one of team’s weekly rituals. That’s to choose one of our core values and share how it comes to life at home.
I love all our values, but “Perpetuate Goodness” has become my personal purpose. It resonates with me through all that I do:
✅ It influences the people I hang out with and the personal projects I work on after hours.
✅ It drives my involvement in the GoodNorth community (see you on Wednesday!).
✅ And it influences my choices as to what brands I choose to support with my dollars and recommend to my friends and family.
It is up on the wall in my room – Perpetuate Goodness in every conversation.
How do you ritualize your company culture?
